I've been mentioning this a lot, but my first encounter with Akuaya was in 2020. It was November, by the way.
The reason I remember this month so precisely is that at the time, artist Domino Ozaki provided a stunning illustration for a November event for a different genre I loved, and a tweet announcing the event circulated on Twitter, which is how I discovered Akuaya through him.
